In the Northern Shenandoah Valley, at the confluence of the Shenandoah River's North and South Forks, lies Warren County. First settled around land and water trade routes in the mid 1700's, the county now encompasses 219 square miles of land area and is home to just over 36,000 residents. Still a largely rural area, Warren County features agricultural tracts, manufacturing plants, a strong industrial section, accessible major transportation routes, historic districts, a wealth of natural resources, scenic destinations, and the Town of Front Royal, Canoe Capital of Virginia. All add up to make Warren County a great place to live, work, retire, and visit.
Students in Warren County are served by five elementary schools, a middle school, two high schools, and several private schools. Christendom College, a private college offering two and four year degrees, is also located in Front Royal.
